Auburn Symphony
MISSION:
To enrich and engage our community, across all generations, through the gift of music.
HISTORY/INFORMATION:
The Auburn Symphony was established in 1988, and as we enter our 35th season, we welcome only the 4th Music Director in our history. Maestro Ryan Murray, a Sacramento native, will lead us into our next chapter. We present a total of 10 concerts in our season, beginning with our gift to the community, the outdoor Symphony & Art in the Park concert. We have three Masterworks concerts with world-renowned guest artists, along with an annual holiday Messiah Sing-along concert and a Family Concert. To triumphantly close our season, we travel to the Mondavi Center for the Arts for a grand finale over Mother's Day weekend. Our outreach programs, proudly presented for over 25 years, include our unique Symphony Goes to School programs and our Young Artists Competition and Recital. Considered a true gem in the heart of gold country, we are the only high-caliber community orchestra in Placer County. We have recently expanded our efforts to partner with local arts entities, with the goal of combining the visual and the performing arts to create richer experiences within our community. We have met with great success working with the Placer Artists Tour, with vibrant art exhibits at our recent outdoor park event and in turn symphony musicians will be featured at different locations every day of the two-weekend tour. We are excited to continue our endeavors and find meaningful ways to expand the arts culture and offerings in Placer County!
