$50 MILLION IN RELIEF FUNDING UPDATE - FEBRUARY 18, 2020

Governor Gavin Newsom, Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins, and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon announced on Feb 17 that they have reached an agreement on a package of immediate actions that will speed needed relief, including $50 million in funding for nonprofit cultural institutions.

Specifics on the grant program are available in Senate Bill 87, which would authorize this new program. Some details include the definition of "cultural institution", clarification that there is no cap on eligibility based on budget size, and that grant amounts will be $5,000-$25,000 (based on the organization's gross annual revenue).
