Roseville Theatre Arts Academy
MISSION:
Our mission at RTAA is to build character in the students we teach, both inside and out. We see the potential in every student and help them grow through music, dance, and theater. Through teamwork and friendship we watch as self-confidence and pride grow.
HISTORY/INFORMATION:
Roseville Theatre Arts Academy was formed after a void was created by the previous tenant's closure. The co-founders, Jennifer Vaughn and Michelle Raskey, had both been a vital part of the children's theater portion of the previous theater. When the old theater closed, the parents and supporters rallied to create a new non-profit theater that focused solely on the children's workshops and fairy tales.
Roseville Theatre Arts Academy was incorporated December of 2010, and opened its doors in January of 2011. Part of its early success and ability to function without debt and in the black is because of the large number of families who started with their adventure - giving them a credible base from which to start. Since then, RTAA strives to provide a theater home to every student where they can explore musical theater, drama, and dance in a safe and positive environment.
RTAA provides training in musical theater workshop, Shakespeare, improvisation, dance, community choir. We also provide experiences for the community to watch fairy tales, children's workshop shows as well as two adult shows per year for the community. In addition, RTAA uses the facility for housing rentals for dance companies, police and fire ceremonies, improvisation festivals, comedy groups, concerts, and professional training. Roseville Theatre Arts Academy also provides enrichment for local schools and children's groups through our award-winning Treehouse Players Series, which features a twist on classic tales brought to life on stage. More than 5,000 children annually are exposed to the joys of live theater through this field trip program.
