Viewpoint Photographic Center
MISSION:
Photography communicates ideas and emotions beyond that which can be said with words. Viewpoint facilitates this vital communication through exhibits, education, and community connection.
HISTORY/INFORMATION:
Viewpoint Photography Art Center is dedicated to promoting the art of photography and to making photography accessible to a wide socioeconomic and demographic sector. As the only non-profit photographic art center in the Northern California region, Viewpoint feels a great responsibility to nurture, promote and advance the photographic art community. This is accomplished through a number of programs including free monthly photo exhibits, weekly workshops, free lectures and field trips, monthly Print and Portfolio Review Nights, membership and access to a large artistic community. Through these programs Viewpoint is able to serve over 200 photographic artists each year with exhibit opportunities and has over 500 members. Annually, approximately 5,000 visitors attend workshops, lectures and exhibits.
