Welcome to the Sacramento Alliance for Regional Art (SARA)
SARA is a coalition of arts organizations, creative workers, and individuals that represent the cultural sector in the Sacramento region. We are musicians, actors, artists, arts administrators, curators, creative workers, and funders who recognize that the arts are essential to our community.
We are employees, employers, neighbors, taxpayers, friends, and family. Our sector contributes more than just a “cool factor,” our industry employs over 6,000 regional citizens with aggregated annual budgets exceeding $167million. We are job creators that support the economic health and development of the region.
That said we are awfully cool. On an annual basis the institutions represented on this site attract thousands of attendees to exhibitions, concerts, plays, festivals, and activations. We provide arts educational opportunities throughout the region often on a scholarship basis and create innovative content in neighborhoods and communities with limited access to those experiences.
We are the lifeblood of the Sacramento region and SARA is our platform for making our voices heard. The site contains an ever growing list of regional organizations and individuals with a goal to establish comprehensive representation for the region as a whole. Additionally, we will be sharing advocacy opportunities as they arise in order to empower the community with consistent talking points in order to be as effective as possible.
Finally, the site will also provide information for jobs and artist opportunities throughout the region. If you have a tip please visit that page to learn more about submitting postings so that we can share them with our members.
We couldn’t be more excited about working together for a stronger arts community!
